Forensic Services

Step As One Disability Services specialises in supporting people under the NDIS who have contact with the Justice system.

Our Forensic disability services provide specialised support and care for individuals with disabilities who have encountered the criminal justice system. We understand the complex challenges and unique needs of these participants and offer tailored services to assist them. We work collaboratively with the participant and stakeholders to reduce risk and the likelihood of further offending, focusing on specific treatment goals to assist in reducing any Court imposed restrictions.

Our team of experienced professionals, including forensic psychologists, social workers and criminologists, collaborate closely with participants to develop individualised plans that address their specific supervision and care requirements. We offer a range of services, including assessment, therapeutic support, and coordination of support services.

We have extensive experience in providing therapeutic support and supervision to participants who have been placed on civil or criminal orders by the Court, including:

  • Supervised Treatment Orders
  • Supervision Orders (Serious Offenders)
  • Compulsory Treatment and Assessment Orders

Other Forensic Services include:

We believe all people have the desire to live a good life. We support a person in achieving their goals through building new skills to increase their capacity. Our focus is on problem solving, their strengths and providing the participant with opportunities to have new experiences, celebrating their successes and seeing every interaction as an opportunity to promote pro-social behaviour.
